Happy birthday to the late, great Patrick Troughton, universally remembered by Old School Sci Fi fans as the Second Doctor. The classically trained actor who portrayed the clownish but cunning Time Lord was born on this day in 1920.

“An Unearthly Child,” the premiere episode of Doctor Who was first broadcast on this day 56 years ago in 1963.
In addition to the returning TARDIS crew, we will also see some former aliens appear in the form of the Judoon.
Meanwhile, the Doctor’s nemeses, the Daleks and the Cybermen, will also be back for the new episodes.
The new series is also set to get darker and scarier following the more informational and family-friendly tone of series 11.
Additionally, this will likely see a return to series arcs akin to the series under Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat.
One of the new episodes will see The Doctor meet author Mary Shelley.
